Today is National Book Day, as well as Dr. Suess’s birthday.

Per the White House Pool Report, Melania brought a white box filled with Dr. Suess books and decorated with a gold ribbon.
“You’ll be as famous as famous can be,” she read aloud from one of her favourite books. “With everyone watching you win on TV.” pic.twitter.com/vJ7UEy06KE

More from the First Lady’s statement:
First Lady Melania Trump celebrated National Read Across America Day and the birthday of Dr. Seuss by visiting the Phyllis and David Komansky Center for Childrens Health at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center.Mrs. Trump met with doctors, families, and patientsat the hospital and shared the joy of reading with the children.
Mrs. Trump brought a package of Dr. Seusss children books, including her and her sons favorite book, “Oh, The Places You’ll Go!”. She gathered with children in the pediatrics playroom and read to them. Afterward she spoke with them and said, “Loving to read early in life has the power to make each one of you a lifelong learner.”
Here is a video of Melania reading the book:
Now for what the First Lady Wore.
Melania wore a black coat over a blue sweater and black ankle pants. She wore the coat in her trademark “shoulder-robing style” without her arms in the sleeves.
Melania kept it simple with a cobalt blue sweater, which the White House Pool reporter Tara McKelvey described as “soft.”
It’s possible that she is wearing Proenza Schouler’s cobalt blue round-neck wool sweater, available for $458.
The description of the sweater notes that it is “spun from supremely soft stockinette-knit wool” and the reporter did describe it as soft!!
Another Proenza Schouler sweater is available in Cobalt blue from Barneys.
This one is made of superfine knit wool. It has rib-knit at the jewel neck, cuffs, and bottoms. The sweater is available for $525.
Melania is wearing her favorite Christian Louboutin ‘So Kate’ Pointy Toe Pump black.
These shoes have a 4 3/4 inch stiletto heel. They are made in Italy of patent leather with a leather lining and sole. The soles are covered in red lacquer. More about the shoes:
This glossy So Kate pump boasts Christian Louboutin’s finest stiletto heel, set near-vertical to dramatically shape your gait into a jaw-dropping stride. The iconic red sole—born from a brush with red nail color—pops beneath the graceful curves.
The pumps are available for $675. The First Lady also owns Louboutin ‘So Kate’ pumps in several colors: hot pink which she wore to the Red Cross Gala, white which she wore to a Super Bowl party, and royal blue which she wore to the Interfaith Prayer Service. We saw her wear a black patent version at Mar a Lago recently, though it is unclear whether the current pair is patent or regular leather.
In addition to today’s hospital visit, the First Lady also visited children in another hospital yesterday.
The hospital is Children’s National in Washington, D.C.
We did not do a separate post on this visit because surprisingly, FLOTUS wore the same red Valentino dress as she did on Tuesday! That’s the same dress, two days in a row.
Perhaps the look was planned for Wednesday and she only put it on momentarily for the photo op at the Tuesday bill signing. Either way, some thriftiness in outfit repetition is welcome!
Here are some photos taken by a relation of one of the children at the hospital:
